Since mid October, ChatGPT answers hotel questions differently.

I asked for a weekend hotel in the South of France. It gave me a few hotels. Then it said: let me narrow it down for you. A short questionnaire followed. What kind of stay, budget per night, where I’m travelling from, which weekend. Some answers were already selected for me. It doesn’t happen on every question yet. But it already shows up on more than half of hotel searches.

This is how AI decides which hotels make the final list. Not by name, but by fit.

So being clear about what kind of hotel you are matters more than ever. Your style, your price range, who you are made for, which occasions you suit. A hotel that tries to be everything for everyone is hard for AI to place. A hotel that knows exactly what it is gets recommended.

If you’d like to know how your hotel shows up in these answers, send me a message.
